ChM. Dr. Nur Farhana Binti Jaafar

Senior Lecturer

Assalamualaikum and Hello,
My name is Nur Farhana Jaafar and 7 November 2016 was the date when I'm officially joined USM. I truly believe that if I want to enjoy my life, I must do the things I love because life is too precious to be doing something to regret later. It is very important to spend my time and energy on things that give me happiness because it will help you to be someone who are positive and appreciate the value of life.

Research

REsearch Interest

My research interest focus on synthesis and characterization of advanced material, mesoporous material, nanoparticle and electrogenerated metal as photocatalyst for degradation of pollutants. Mesoporous materials have attracted much attention due to their surface area and tunable pore diameter. Their numerous morphologies and compositions, including nanoparticles, powders, thin films, fibers, and monoliths, make them favorable for various applications. Photocatalytic degradation using catalyst is the process to degrade the pollutant in the presence of light, catalyst and oxidation agent. Currently, my future interest are focusing on synthesis and characterize these materials using biomass waste as starting materials as one of the alternative to save the environment and aim for green synthesis method. Besides that, I also focusing in design the visible light driven photocatalyst as an aim for wide application of catalyst.

REsearch ToPICS
